Now Open: Schools Award Competition from KEEF

Now announcing the sixth annual Moving to the Head of the Class Awards!

Calling all k-12 schools in PA! The KEEA Energy Education Fund wants to recognize students, staff, and faculty for creative and effective initiatives to reduce energy costs. Thanks to the hard work of these Energy Champions, every dollar not spent on energy costs can be routed back to education itself!

Has your school implemented a creative behavior change program to save energy, saved a ton of kWh with a retrofit project, or hired an Energy Manager to devise a five-year energy plan? Awesome! We will award FOUR Energy Champion Awards in 2019.

Just getting started on your energy efficiency journey? Fantastic! We are proud to introduce a Rookie of the Year Award, which will go to any school that shows an exceptional commitment to introducing energy efficiency to their school or community.

We look forward to showcasing the innovation, enthusiasm, and community engagement of a school just learning to treat energy efficiency as a resource, while still rewarding schools that make significant capital investments to achieve radically lowered energy costs.

Applications can be found here, and are due by 5:00 pm on March 1, 2019. Winners will be announced March 11, and awards ceremonies will be scheduled in April and May of 2019.

The 2019 Schools Award Program from KEEF is made possible by the West Penn Power Sustainable Energy Fund.
