Who We Are

KEEA’s sister organization, the KEEA Energy Education Fund (KEEF) is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation, with the mission of increasing the energy efficiency of Pennsylvania’s buildings through education and awareness.

KEEF monitors and supports energy efficiency policies, regulations, and legislation at local, state, and federal levels; educates the public about energy conservation and efficiency; provides forums for sharing best practices; provides rapid information-exchange platforms to keep abreast of energy efficiency developments as they happen; and promotes feedback mechanisms on market transformation activities in the field. KEEF is committed to long-term, transformative clean energy solutions and not simply attracting resources to energy efficiency that are “here today but gone tomorrow.”

KEEF’s key initiatives include Moving to the Head of the Class, an energy efficiency award program among K-12 schools in Pennsylvania.

KEEF and KEEA are the only nonprofit corporations dedicated solely to the support of energy efficiency policies in Pennsylvania.

Moving to the Head of the Class Schools Award

This energy efficiency award provides a unique opportunity for K-12 schools in Pennsylvania to get recognition for all of the work they have already done to save energy and money. Past award winners have together saved over 10,000,000 kWh and $1,300,000!

This year KEEF was honored to design the Discovering Energy station of the Pennsylvania Envirothon with support from PPL Utilities! Teams of high school students from every county in the Commonwealth learned about residential energy efficiency in STEM and hands on exercises.
